Question Kunena Discuss and jDownloads...

Hey again all, I love Kunena Discuss you guys, it is a very cool tool for me to have on my site.

However, I do have one question though. Is there any way I can make Kunena Discuss work with jDownloads descriptions?

For example, Kunena Discuss takes a selected (via admin) part of an article and places it how you want it in the Kunena forums which people can comment on either in the article or the forums and the comment/post in placed in both areas (Genious btw)

I want that same concept but for jDownloads. Every time a user uploads a new file on my site ( view here ), they are required to enter the description into the form that goes with their upload.

I want Kunena Discuss to create a forum topic as it already does. I want it to create it with the title of the download for the topic title and a link to the mod in the post content, and the short description to be the main topic text.

This way members can discuss and add support for their uploads, and members can post new suggestions, questions or feedback for the downloads via the Kunena forum and not jComments (I have that installed for my jDownloads comment system) and the developers or uploaders can add direct support for their uploads in the forums.

Possible? If not, I recommend this for a future Kunena Project.

EDIT: Sorry for posting this in the wrong forum, I just remember there is a Discuss forum :P

Interesting question. I'm sorry, but I don't understand why people seem to be having problems understand what the Kunena Discuss plugin was designed for. The software was designed to be used with Joomla articles.

I'm sure that, if other software developers were interested and enthusiastic about their own products, they could adapt Kunena Discuss to work with their products. You could, for example, have a Kunena Discuss for jDownloads or a Kunena Discuss for LaundryNinjas (or whatever other Joomla extension might be on the market). Kunena Discuss is open source and other developers can adapt it to be used with their products if they want.

If you want this feature then I suggest that you write to the developers of jDownloads and ask them if they are interested. If you would like someone else to adapt Kunena Discuss so that it can work with jDownloads then you might have to pay for that "experience".

These are only my thoughts. Perhaps other people might have different opinions.

Hmmmm. Ask jDownloads huh? Good idea mate.

I really think this is a cool idea for Kunena Discuss. And don't get me wrong sozzled, I understand what the plugin is made for, I am only exploring very cool possibilites and future evolution of the plugin.

I think a lot of people using jDownloads would like to have their fresh uploads to be placed in the forum and allow members to discuss them and add their support via forum.

All they would have to do is make it to where you can select jDownloads section ID's and match them with Kunena category ID's like how Kunena Discuss works now, but I will ask at jdownloads.com for more info.

THX! sozzled, you always lend a great helping hand. :)

I would be very happy if Kunena Discuss jDownloads is compatible with. Is there already a solution?
