Question Kunena Discuss old article vs new article J1.5

I have another testsite with j1.5.23 K1.65 and discuss 1.6.4

kunena discuss not working with old articles (nov. 2009)
new articles (after publish kd plugin) OK
and also when I save an old article with a new publish date KD is running

I guess now: the article must publish => kunena discuss publish

a bug?

There are 2 configuration options that prevents users from discussing old articles. One prevents topic creation when article is older than X weeks, another replying.
