My options where:
The Kunena forum has been taken offline.
If you do not want to upgrade now, please abort the installation and install the old version to restore and enable your forum.
It is recommended to backup your website before upgrading.
Upgrade Kunena from version 1.6.2 to 1.6.4.
HINT: Use this option to upgrade Kunena 1.6 to the current version.

I dropped the new kunena tables from my database and that left my original fb_ tables. The when I went into the back end it showed the migrate button and installation went fine from there.
One more question if you have the patience, just before I deleted the kunena tables I backed them up as there were some new messages/posts that people posted after my pre 1.6 install backup. Any way of just getting the messages from that backup? its is an sql file that contains the fb_ and the kunena_ tables. (remember though, the kunena tables were slightly corrupted because I renamed fb_ tables to make them kunena tables.

This is much too complicated to resolve in a question-and-answer session on this forum. We do not encourage messing around with databases (see
How To Destroy your forum data...
). Perhaps today we might be able to talk about these things offline ... maybe?
