My forum finaly (almost)works after install (I did an installation over web via your download link). Other installations by ftp did not work out.
Only thing is:
I cannot access any posts: I get a 404 error, or better, he gives an error with the cookies, it says they are in a loop.
Also posting a new topic results in an error page (although it did post the topic it seems.
I tried turning on and of SEF urls etc, and resetting the settings.
What could be wrong?
How to solve?

Did you read K 1.6 Installation Guide ?encounters wrote: My forum finaly (almost)works after install (I did an installation over web via your download link). Other installations by ftp did not work out.
Please read Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) in the Wiki to find out how to do this properly. A reference to this important part of running a Joomla website is also made in the K 1.6 Installation Guide .encounters wrote: I tried turning on and of SEF urls
If these things still do not resolve your problems, please post your K 1.6 configuration report. Thank you.

Indeed my settings are as following:
* Search Engine Friendly URLs: Yes
* Use Apache mod_rewrite: Yes
* Add suffix to URLs: No.
Where can I post my report for this?

(1) Search Engine Friendly URLs: Yes
(2) Use Apache mod_rewrite: Yes
(3) You need a .htaccess file, in the root folder, that handles setting (2) above. It's all explained in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
Please see the posting guide at the top of this page to find out more about how to generate your K 1.6 configuration report.

I think the main problem is:
I tried installing K1.6, then uninstall, then 1.5 then 1.0, because they all didn't work.
Maybe I can do uninstall, and clean up the tables in the SQL? Which and what lines are important in the sql?
I didn't realise that the install method was via the url, maybe you should post it under the download button, or better: DO NOT make it a download button, but a step guide?

Then you tried to install K 1.5 - which is about ready to die a natural death very soon - but it also "didn't work".
And then you tried to install K 1.0 - which is not even supported any more - and why did you try to use that version?
So now I am quite unsure what you have on your website and I don't think you know either.
The K 1.6 Installation Guide shows you exactly what to do. I even made a video presentation of how you should go about the process. My advice to you is to start again with a clean website, just J! 1.5.22 and K 1.6.3 for starters (and nothing else) and make sure that you can install Kunena on that platform.
