Hi All,

I was wondering if it was feasible to somehow migrate the data from Kunena 1.0.11 and into a fresh installation of Kunena 1.6.3 ?

Thanks in advance.

There are three possible options:

If you are very proficient in database administration, then you can work through these issues yourself but the exercise is long, involved and requires proper preparation beforehand. Because you are using K 1.0.11 the is a strong likelihood that there will be legacy issues involved in transferring the operations from one site to another.

We can guide you, in general terms, through the process. In effect you really should start with a fresh Joomla 1.5.22 website, with no other extensions on it, install K 1.0.11 on that website and then replace the databases for your Joomla users and K 1.0.11 messages on that site. Then upgrade from K 1.0.11 to K 1.6.3 in site. That's the approach I would adopt.

You could employ someone to undertake this job for you.

No, I am not looking for someone to do it for me.

I was just looking for some friendly pointers on where I should start looking.

If you search this forum you will find references to jos_fb* tables and jos_users tables and other thing like those. We've had this kind of "how can I copy the database from A to B" question many times before. If you can't find these things, please let me know. I'll try to dig the information out for you.
