Important Parse error: /administrator/components/com_kunena/install/model.php on line 37

Hi.

I'm trying to install com_kunena_v1.6.3 in Joomla! 1.5.10.

Initially, I received the error:

JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Component Install: Failed to create directory.: "/components/com_kunena"

I created this folder manually, and gave it permissions 2777.

Now, I receive the error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /administrator/components/com_kunena/install/model.php on line 37

Why is this happening? How do I fix it?

The requierments for this version is Joomla! 1.5.22

The second error indicate that you have some files which are corrupted, re-download it.

I have successfully upgraded to Joomla 1.5.22 Stable.

I have twice downloaded a new copy of com_kunena_v1.6.3_b4344_2011-01-31.zip and tried to install it, only to receive exactly the same error.

Maybe the zip file on your server is corrupt?

It also gives this error message when using php 4.x

Why does Kunena require PHP5?

What is wrong with PHP4?

Kunena 1.6 needed PHP5.
