Important Duplicate user records created in upgrade from Kunena 1.6.1 ->1.6.2

Hi,
Just upgraded from Kunena 1.6.1 to 1.6.2.
Some of the users on the forum complained that the forum statistics do not work, and I found out that many of the users have multiple duplicate entries in jos_kunena_users, however only one user in jos_users.

When I try to remove duplicate entries manually, it creates duplicates again by itself(!)

Advice on how to fix is greatly appreciated.

does anyone else experience this?

I'm sorry: I'm not saying that it's not possible for this to happen - but I have a some difficulty accepting the claim that these duplicate user records are regenerated "by themselves" - but I've just performed by sixth K 1.6.1 -> K 1.6.2 upgrade and I haven't encountered this problem ... yet!

I know - this is a mind boggling to say the least.

Even when I manually delete duplicate and completely identical records in the database, Kunena generates new duplicates!

What could cause such an error, and where can I look to fix it?
