Hey! I'm quite new at this so I might not be doing this right.

I am trying to update from 1.5.12 to 1.6. I can successfully remove and reinstall 1.5.12 all day till the sun goes down and everything works fine. When I try to do a clean install or upgrade to 1.6 I get the following:

Installer detected failed or interrupted installation attempt!
An incomplete installation of Kunena 1.6.0 build 3620 was found in your system. This means that the installation either failed or was interrupted.

That's the first part. So I click on the link bellow that says migrate Kunena 1.5.12 and the following happens.

JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Unable to create destination
Install path does not exist
JFolder::delete: Path is not a folder
Copy failed
JInstaller::install: Failed to copy file to
The Kunena forum could not be installed!

Prepare Installation ... OK
Migrate fb_version ... OK
Alter kunena_version ... OK
Uncompressing admin.zip ... OK
Uncompressing site.zip ... OK
Uncompressing media.zip ... OK
Installing language English (United Kingdom) ... FAILED
Installing System - Kunena plug-in ...
Notice: Undefined index: in /var/www/vhosts/fos/httpdocs/community/administrator/components/com_kunena/install/tmpl/default_install.php on line 20

I'm not sure where to start. I thought it might be a permissions error so I started changing some folders, but it didn't help.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

What Joomla! version do you have ?

You have a corrupted install of kunena 1.6, please uninstall it before to start. Remove the directories administrator/components/com_kunena and components/com_kunena

Check that allpermissions are green in help -> system info -> Directory permissions

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

We just updated to Joomla 1.5.12 this afternoon.

I made sure permissions were good.

Removed all of com_kunena.

Still getting the same error.

I can however remove 1.6 and reinstall 1.5.12 without a problem.

Ya know what? I read that already, but I figured since you posted I'd read it one more time for good luck. And I missed one post in there that fixed my whole problem and it works now. Thanks.

The solution was to set the owner of the files and folders to apache

chown -R apache:apache

Worked like a charm.

Thanks again.
