Hello, I just upgraded to 1.6. All the migration was successful but when I went to look at the front end I just got this message

Notice: Object of class CKunenaConfig could not be converted to int in /hermes/bosweb/web268/b2687/ipg.ariegeaudeforumcom/public_html/components/com_kunena/lib/kunena.link.class.php on line 195

Fatal error: Call to a member function isAdmin() on a non-object in /hermes/bosweb/web268/b2687/ipg.ariegeaudeforumcom/public_html/components/com_kunena/class.kunena.php on line 502

Do you have any ideas please? I think I am going to have to uninstall the component.

You most likely have an old and now outdated latest post module or discuss plugin installed. Disable them and install the new Kunena 1.6 versions and everything should be fine.

Hope this helps!

Hello again, Very many thanks indeed for such speedy replies. I did have an old module and have uninstalled it. I reinstalled 1.6. The other sections of my site are now working again but the forum is still not there. I have this in the report configuration settings

and this when I go to Kunena

I have read the other posts are recommended but I'm quite new to Joomla and dont know how to clear the cache. Should I try to uninstall Kunena? do you think please?

My guess is that there is still something outdated on your website. You should also get off legacy mode as soon as possible. It can create conflicts with other components.
