Hello all,

I have upgraded from Joomla 1.5.14 with Kunena 1.5 all the way to Joomla 1.5.23 and Kunena 1.7 (all was fine so far)
Now I have upgraded to Joomla 1.7 and now all my users seem to have an other user ID (postings do not belong to the user)
For instance I am now a 14 yr old Danish boy.. Usernames are correct, postings are wrong.

I used joomla 1.5.14 and Kunena 1.5 with Community Builder which I deleted before the upgrade to 1.5.23
I now use Jomsocial 2.2.4 and is integrated with Kunena.

Does anyone have an idea how this might have happend?
I have 469 users and I did a user sync but it did not fix it :(
I hope someone knows how to fix this or is willing to help me out.

Many thanks in advance!

Hello,

How do you have upgraded for J1.5 to J1.7 ?

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Thanks for the reply :)

I upgraded from 1.5.14 to 1.5.23 (joomla) with the normal joomla upgrade package.
Then I upgraded Kunena 1.5 to 1.7 (which went well)
Then I installed a new Joomla 1.7, installed Kunena 1.7 and did a dump of the Kunena tables in the old and imported them into the new joomla.
Then did an import of the users from the old to the new.

The problem might be that I used Community Builder in the old Joomla and now using JomSocial in the new one..
I found (and lost) an article of someone who had similar issues.

At first I did an upgrade with Jupgrade but I ended up with two different prefixes in the database (Kunena tables where not changed to the new one) so I stopped using that.

Lucky me I use Akeeba Backup religuoisly :)

You just cannot manually import users from Joomla 1.5 to 1.7. You should use JUpgrade to migrate users and Kunena, but unfortunately version 1.2.1 is broken and you should wait for the new release.
