Question Blank Page (Frontend and Backend after Login) after Upgrade to Kunena 1.6.5

Dear Kunena Community,

after upgrading from Kunena 1.6.4 to 1.6.5 today, front- and backend only show a blank page. I can access the backend login page but after loging in with the credentials it also shows a blank page. So, I cannot simply uninstall and/ or re-install Kunena. Every input would be appreciated because as blank as the pages is also my problem-solving on that issue.

Some information:
Joomla 1.5.23
Legacy Mode = 1
Technical Kunena Requirements met
uddeIM 2.4
Community Builder (last stable 1.5)
JoomDOC (last stable 2.2)
Projectfork
AkeebaBackup (last stable)
MyCommunity Template

Any input would be great...also just tell me if I forgot to list something.

Thx
z

Thanks, the outcome is the following:

Adding ini_set('display_errors', 1); and error_reporting(E_ALL); and reloading:
Blank Page

Adding php_flag display_errors On
Blank Page

Check Kunena installation is ok
Cannot do because no backend access. However, in the database it shows still the old version number and not 1.6.5

Enable the debug mode
Cannot do because no backend access.

So far I got myself, I think for the rest I have to contact my provider.

1. However, is it possible to deactivate Kunena Component via Database to figure out if that solves the problem and at least I get access to the backend again?
2. Or is it possible to overwrite the new Kunena files with files from an older version which did not cause the problem yet?

best
z

I don't recommend to uninstall Kunena manually, what are your php and mysql versions ?
Are-you using third party kunena tempaltes ?
Are-you using Joomla third party template ?
Are-you using plugins/modules for Kunena (if yes which versions) ?
Are-you using third party ACL component (Artofuser, ...) ?

Blank page issue comes most likely from a broken system plugin -- look at jos_plugins table and try to find and disable all Kunena related plugins.

If administration breaks (after login blank page), the issue can be only in 2 places:

1) Plugins
2) Administrator modules

If the site breaks in both frontend and backend (everything else but admin login screen is white), the issue MUST be in plugins, as nothing else gets loaded. So disabling plugins (one by one) should reveal the breaking one.

But it's easier to find web server error logs and look the issue from there.
