Question [SOLVED] Single elements too wide in a fixed width Joomla template

Hi,

I use a Joomla fixed width template an Kunena forum component 1.6.0.

My problem is, that some of the components elements have a greater width than the rest of the component (please see here ).

I think it is a problem with the default template. The <div id="Kunena"> has the correct width. But the <table class="klist-actions"> uses the whole with of the Joomla template instead of the given <div id="Kunena">-tag.

Result: Not all pages of the thread are shown because they go outside the <div id="Kunena">-tag and are not displayed.

The CSS class for the table has no width information, so I added "width:100%;" to the CSS -- did not work. Then I added a margin-right to bring the table to line -- no success.

So I introduced a new div tag (in file /template/default/view/thread.actions.php) around the table which has a margin-right so that it fits my Joomla template. The div-tag has the right width, but the table ignores it.

I appreciate any help.

We can't see the problem on your website. Only registered users can view the forum.

Am I correct in understanding that you have developed your own Kunena template and that you would like some help to fix it?

I'm sorry for the registration purpose. I created an account, which you can use to view the problem:

I use the kunena default template. I'd like to modify some CSS types in order to get it to the right width.

Problem is solved!

While creating the help account I recognized that the problem only occurs when you login as forum admin. In this case the are some extra buttons in the action list.

Because of the german translation the needed space for the buttons is too large. So the table exceeds the width of the template.

I changeed the language file so that the buttons have shorter descriptions and the table comes to the expected width.
