Question Messed up display

Hi, I doubt this is a new problem but can't find a solution anywhere.

I've only just got Kunena set up and after 24 hours it's developed a display problem. The text is failing to wrap properly and I'm losing words on the right hand side. I've looked for a long word or URL but there's nothing particularly long and not enough to cause this issue?

Any ideas a newbie can follow to sort it?

Cheers
Dave

G'day, Dave and welcome to Kunena.

Unfortunately there's not a lot we can do to help you at this moment. As I'm sure you would have seen, if you had searched these forums before you posted, your problem is most unusual, most unusual ... in fact, I might even go so far as to say your problem seems unique. But, then again, we're powerless to help you because we can't see the problem.

When you wrote "after 24 hours [Kunena has] developed a display problem" are you saying that everything was initially good ... and then things changed? How? Did you make a change?

One way you could help is to post your configuration report (if you don't know where it is, you can search the forum or the Wiki for information). Searching for information at this site and the companion Wiki site is a good way to learn Kunena. ;)

Hi,

The issue first surfaced after about 24 hours but nothing had changed other than messages had been posted on the forum. The only way of eliminating the problem has been to remove all advertising from down the right hand side to allow the text window room to display.

Here's the Config setting report:

I looked at your website. I browsed all 16 messages posted at your forum. I did not see any evidence of a "messed up" display. I viewed your site with both Firefox 3.6.10 and IE 8. I will also add that I have not seen this issue before with the rhuk_milkyway template (which you are using).

Where is this "messed-up" display that you're referring to. What browser are you using to view your site?

The reason why it no longer appears messed up is quite simple....removing the column on the right hand side of the page is the only way to be able to see the text on the right of the display area. If I replace the adverts as in all the other pages then you lose the last 20% of text on each line as it disappears behind the right hand column instead of resizing the forum.

So this isn't so much a support question about Kunena, it's a design and layout question about how squeeze a lot of stuff into a template that's really not big enough to accommodate everything. Would that be a fair way to summarise the situation?

You could have adverts on your site but not tall (portrait) ones; you could have wide (landscape) ones ... like you see here at Kunena.com. Or you could go for a wider template.
