Kunena 6.4.9 & Kunena 7.0.1 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.9 [K 6.4.9] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x/5.3.x/5.4.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.4

This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Important note: Go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated. This is particularly necessary for major version jumps so that the table changes are adapted.

I'm having a problem with editing the social links in Edit Profile > Profile Inforamtion

It looks like Kunena adds pre text to what you enter in the boxes for your social links. The problem is they are not all correct, or from what my understanding is of what to enter. For example, a Linkedin profile URL reads as follows:

My initial instinct for entering my profile into one of these boxes is to copy the URL above and paste into the box. Of course this doesn't work because of what Kunena adds before it, Looking like this:

Now, Kunena asks you to put your username into this box if you read the tooltip from hovering your mouse over it. Entering my username also doesn't work; says profile not found.

What is the correct entry for these boxes?

Go to linkedin.com


Customize your Public Profile's URL. You can also include this personal URL in an email signature to direct contacts to your profile.
1. Click on the 'Edit Your Profile' link found on the left hand side of the home page.
2. Click on 'Edit' next to the 'Public Profile' area.
3. Click on 'Edit' next to the 'Your Public Profile URL' area at the top of the page.
4. Enter your new custom URL. with www.linkedin.com/in/barrettcowan
5. Click on 'Set Address'.


then go to the kunena profile. set as barrettcowan and save. then it must work.

Thank you for finding that information. It worked for me by creating a custom profile URL in my Linkedin profile and using that name in the Kunena box.

It's seems to me that this way, is a bit quirky for adding the social links to your profile. Maybe I should suggest a better way in the suggestion area if it hasn't already ...
