Hi...

In the previous version there was an option to adopt the Joomla template styling rather then a template from Kuenea. I liked this and so did the client as it blended with the site really well. I do not see that option at all in 1.6 can someone give me some direction to achieve this?

In the "old" version of Kunena there was an option (which usually caused more problems than it solved) and this facility was removed in K 1.6.

A new template style is currently under development that, all going well, will be included in K 1.6.1. This new template is known as "Skinner" - because the template takes its "skin" from your Joomla site template. Please be patient for a little longer. The "Skinner" template is an order of magnitude improvement over the old Use Joomla Style option in K 1.5 and K 1.0
