I have 2 sites running Joomla!1.6. On one of the sites I have installed Kunena forum (and is perfect for what I need)
I have a query now.
My sites are for 1. Careres of mental health sufferers and 2. Mental health sufferers.
On my second site is there any way to link it to the first sites installation of Kunena. The topics for discussion are the same on both sites and I don't want separate forums.
Hi You said not easily doable. That suggest that it can be done. I am not afraid of a bit of faffing about with code to get something done. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
Everything can be done, but this is actually a limitation in Joomla, which means that you would need to change all database handling in Kunena by making abstract level into Kunena. After that you would need to have either user synching between the sites (Kunena uses userid, which must be the same for all users in both sites) or there needs to be a mapping, which is harder to do. Actually user synching should be possible with existing plugins, but it usually works only if one of the sites was empty before enabling the plugin.
I would say that the feature would take a week or two to implement. While not impossible -- and I'm sorry to say this -- it's not very likely that I would do this feature anytime soon unless someone pays me to do it.
