Important [RESOLVED] "Board categories" pull-down does not list categories -> unable to create new topic

Whan I try to post a new topic on my site there are no categories in the category dropdown list. Therefore I don't have the permission to post my topic. Don't know when this started and have no idea how to debug.

Very poor timing for this issue, just got national exposure for my site and No one can post any new topics! HELP!

As an administrator I can create new topics....

When I try to post a new topic on my site as a registered user there are no categories in the category dropdown list. Therefore I don't have the permission to post my topic.

Don't know when this started and have no idea how to debug.

I can se all the categories as a Super Administrator start new topics.

If I elevate my registered user account to a Global Moderator I can see all the categories in the category drop down list and start a new topic.

I believe this must have started with the 1.6.4 update.

You also may need to re-examine how you have setup your SEO. Please see Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) .

Something does not look at all right with your Joomla menus. I think this is what is causing your problem. Try the trash-burn-build technique.

I have reaad this and I have followed what it requires. I don't understand what I'm missing. It's worked for months and now it doesn't..

I can see the categories as a moderator but NOT as a registered user...

if the Categories were not setup correctly or the SEO was wrong, it should NOT work for Super Admin or Moderator either.

It appears something is wrong permissions wise and it doesn't make sense...
