Okay so I have a forum... It's working wonderfully I love the way the registration works (I know that's not Kunena I've read that now) it lets me use spaces in the user names....Members can fiddle around all they want all the functions that they SHOULD have work...

Until I make them an admin if they have a space in their name. Members with spaces in their names (which I LIKE because the forum I am building is for RPing and lots of people like using first and last names with spaces) can NOT access any of the administrative functions, they can't edit, they can't ban they can't do nothing. second they take the space out of their name full functionality of the admin/mod powers in the board.

Is there a hack to fix this? Is it possible to have this fixed in a future update (I don't even care if it's 2.0) Because atm I'm not to worried about it. Forum is not big enough to need more than one admin/mod...for now.... but should it get to that size I don't really want to tell my members ohhh by the way you can't be a mod unless you lose the space in your name... I already know that won't go over well.

I realize this is mainly a Joomla issue - since it doesn't work on the Joomla stuff either - but quite frankly I don't care about that end just the forum end since members have no access to anything else other than the forum that they need to do anything with admin wise. They just need to be able to do the editing and the moderating in the forum itself if they are admins/mods.

G'day, fuin, and welcome to Kunena.

This is the first I've read about an issue like this and I would like to try it out for myself. Can you please post your K 1.6 configuration report so that I can see what you're using and I will try to use the same things, too. Thanks. :)

I moved your message from the General Talk about Kunena category because, if you are correct, this sounds like a serious problem.

I should note that when I say 'name' I mean the user name that you use to sign in with.

Thanks for the reminder. I still haven't had a chance to test this for myself. Has anyone else had a chance to test this for themselves?

The question, again, for others who might like to help, is this: fuin's site allows him to register usernames containing a space character and he has assigned some of these accounts to be moderators. According to fuin, usernames that contain spaces cannot moderate the forum (they cannot edit or move other user posts and they cannot ban other accounts, either) unless these accounts are converted to be administrator accounts.

Our task is to establish the facts of this.
