Hi,

It seems quite often that this is requested and it is usually a syncing error but for me this is different.

Instead of showing a different number of members/guests it shows none at all even though underneath it shows the names of those which have been on in the last 60 minutes. I am trying to work out or find which .php file it takes this from so I can re-install just that .php file to see if that fixes it. I thought it would be kenune.who.class but it doesnt appear to be the correct one.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Mark.

We ask people who post in the Support category to read the posting guidelines first. If people read the posting guidelines (that appear at the top of this page) it will save us time asking for information that should have been given when the topic was created and it will mean that people will get their questions answered faster. Without that information all we can say is read the K 1.6 Technical Requirements and make sure that you are using all the right software ... and that's not very helpful advice, is it?

I went to your site - finding that, in itself, required a small amount of detective work - and I saw the issue that you described. I don't know what's causing this issue without further information about your website. Would you like to provide that missing information? Thanks.

OK Sozzled,

I was asking if anybody knew which PHP it took the information from rather than full blown support which is why I had omitted the config log but no matter.

Thank you for posting your K 1.6 configuration report. From your configuration report I can tell that you have not properly implemented Joomla SEO. I suggest you follow the guide posted in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) in the Wiki - read it carefully - and implement the recommendations that it makes.

There's no need to install "just one file" if you fear that your installation went awry. I don't know what this "one file" might be and, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be wasting my time looking for it, either. It is much more efficient - and probably more effective - if you reinstall the whole Kunena package (reinstalling will not lose any configuration changes you may have made, any categories you've created or messages posted on your forum).

We have made a couple of Mod's to the Kunena PHP to get the Karma only to increase not decrease and a couple of other bits. If I can track down the PHP for this without re-installing that would be much easier as I hate re-installing for no reason.

If anybody else has any ideas in the community that would be fantastic, I appreciate all your help either way.

So what are you going to do when K 1.6.4 is released?

When you make changes to the source code you place yourself at arm's length from the basic support that we offer. As I cannot find other cases where people have reported the problems that you are currently facing, I can only conclude - and I think you would agree that it's a reasonable conclusion - that the problems you have are unique to your situation. It is possible - I am not saying that it's conclusive - that some change you've made may have had unforeseen consequences downt-track.

As far as Karma is concerned (that's a entire discussion in its own right) maybe it's better if you just get rid of it entirely and disable the feature. "Thank you" seems to work well, wouldn't you agree?

Minimal changes = minimal problems. That's my motto. ;)
