You cant insert any characters when you create a emoticon. For example, leftarrow is not accepted as a character in an emoticon code.

I'm sorry, I don't completely understand what you wrote. Are you asking a question or are you stating a fact? Can you demonstrate this issue here at www.kunena.org ?

I am stating a fact. If I, as an admin, try to add an emoticon from the administration panel under "Emoticon Manager", I cant use leftarrows in the emoticon code.

the current emoticon handler is in need of work. It's an old remnant from the old Fireboard days. This is being addressed for future versions of Kunena, but for now it's still an unfortunate reminder of days gone past. A couple things to keep in mind when typing out your emoticon aliases:

- don't repeat patterns (ie. if : ) already exists, then you can't use > : ) later in the list)

- if you find that a certain combination doesn't get accepted, there's no way around it, just pick a different combination
