Question polls not registering votes

Hi all,

I have just enabled polls on my forum for the first time. Trying an experimental poll, everything seems to work OK, the poll appears at the top of the thread as I would expect.

However, when I vote, the selection doesn't register and my name doesn't appear below. Several other users are reporting the same thing.

I have tested the Kunena poll here: So I have a sense of how it is supposed to work.

Any ideas why poll results are not be recorded?

I don't know the answer to this question (or how to find out the answer); I'm sorry. If the poll feature works here at www.kunena.org it may be because this site is using K 1.6.4 (under development) but I haven't seen evidence of the poll feature breaking like this before at this site, either.

I am aware that the new release of K 1.6.4 (which is expected soon) has made changes to the poll mechanism. You can find out more about this if you look at the SVN. More than that, I can't say.

The majority of cases involving problems with polls are because of other site factors such as Javascript library conflicts. The best recommendation is to create a test site (on your server) with Joomla 1.5.22 and K 1.6.3 and nothing else - I mean, just the default installation of Joomla and don't change the template - and then see if polls work. If they do, then you know it's some mix of software on your live site that's causing the problem. If they don't then it's "something else".

I am having the same problem. I can see my new poll but it is not registering votes.

Maybe I have found a little workaround...
Don't tell me why, but I have changed (in the Kunena configuration -> Plugin panel) the option "Single vote only" from "Yes" to "No":


And now seems to work. But now I have a new problem... one can vote many times, and I don't want this!

I think that there is a problem in the logic behind the options. If I set back the above parameter to Yes, then the "Vote" button is switched in "Change vote". So, when the poll starts, users cannot do anything... simply 'cause there is no vote to change if you cannot vote the first time. :S

Maybe should I leave the "Single vote only" to "No" and set "Maximum number of votes per user" to "1"?

When you said polls no registering votes, what's happen exactly ? Do you see errors messages or something else ?
