Question show email bug maybe

How does the show email function work within a users profile?

(so when editing your user profile under the section "forum settings" there is an option to "Hide email" or not - and other settings...).

Seems that it doesn't work - if the admin has set the conf to show email (under user section) it shows email for everyone even if a user has elected "yes" to hide email....

how does a user control whether their email shows or not no matter the conf settings of admin? Also I am using private messaging using UddeIM (should this make a difference).

Anyone know the answer here...

so after a user logs in and wants to edit their kunena forum user profile there is a setting to hide/show email within the section "forum settings" on the forum user profile page.

No matter how I set the kunena config settings on the admin to show or hide a users email (under "users" tab of forum config settings or under "plugins" tab of the forum config settings) this show/hide email doesn't seem to work.

So I set email to show under "users" tab within forum config, the user can't elect to "hide" their email if they so choose using the hide/show email setting within their forum profile.

So is this a bug is it not working -- or am I misundertanding how this show/hide email function within the forum profile is suppose to work.
