Probably a stupid question but I do not see the EDIT button in my Kunena 1.6.2. I'm the owner of the thread as a registered user and cannot edit my own post.

For information, I've already controlled the configuration file where the USER EDITION is flagged to YES.

Thanks a lot for your support as I'm searching but still now without success...

G'day, audisport, and thank you for your question. I'm sorry but I do not understand what you mean by "I've already controlled the configuration file where the USER EDITION is flagged to YES." Can you post us a screenshot of that configuration setting, please?

For us to see to better understand the issue, it would help to know a few things. Could you post your K 1.6 configuration report. It would also help to have a test account. You can provide us those details using this BBcode:

Merci. I now understand what you mean by "USER EDITION" (Edition utilisateur). In the English version of Kunena this setting is called "User Edits".

If you are an administrator or a moderator of your forum, it does not matter what you set this value. If you are an administrator or moderator you can edit your own posts (or someone else's posts) any time you like. If you are not a user with these privileges, you are only allowed to edit your messages for a certain amount of time after your original posting. This time is defined by the setting Configuration » Users » User Related » User Edit Grace Time (Configuration » Utilisateurs » Utilisateurs connexes » Temps de grâce d'édition). This is 600 seconds (10 minutes) by default.

In other words, if you create a message (as an ordinary user) you have 10 minutes to edit you message; after that time you will not be able to see the Edit button. I hope this helps.

Next time that you have a simple question about how to use Kunena, can you please think about using the Common Questions category first before you post your question in the Support category. The Support category is for asking questions about when things are broken or do not work for you just like they work here at www.kunena.org .

We might have saved some time if you wrote, "I cannot use the Edit button, at www.kunena.org , to edit my own messages.

Does this solve your problem?

Thanks sozzled and sorry for the bad translation.

I know all of that, but I've made a test as registered user with posts done days ago and still do not have the EDIT button....

Do you have an idea where I should look around?

Thanks again

If you made a post days ago as a registered user (but not as a user with administrator or moderator privileges) then you cannot edit your message as a registered user. Do you understand what I mean?

As a registered user (not as a moderator or administrator) you have 10 minutes (600 seconds) in which you can edit your message. After that time you cannot edit your own message ... as a registered user. But you can edit the message if you are an administrator or forum moderator and the 600 second limit does not apply.
