Hello, I upgraded from Kunena 1.5 to 1.6.2 and the user profile edit that used to work prior to the update, no more works. When Edit is clicked in the profile page, it just leads back to my site home page. Please , i searched the forums before posting and cant find any issue like that.

Could be SEO issues, Javascript conflict issues, conflicting menu items, site template, Joomla configuration ... any one of a number of things. I would start my investigation in order of how I listed the possible causes.

Have you looked at what other people have written when they ask their questions in the Support category? Have you, for example, looked at the sticky topics in the Support category to help you?

Hello sozzled, thanks for the reply. Yes , I tried to use 'Report configuration settings' but guess what, it just goes to a blank page. Thats why I couldnt do that in the first place.

I tried to re-install without uninstalling so that the files may be overwritten with the right files without affecting forum posts and data but no changes.

I also like to mention that after moving the site to another domain , the Boardcode area at the top, does not function well again. The emoticons cant be added automatically to posts on click. The characters has to be typed.
The whole message Editing area, doesnt show anymore. Like 'B, Italic, underline, color image and file attachments etc. All that area does not show anymore.

Please any pointers to some help would be very appreciated. Thanks

G'day. It would help us both if we don't wait nearly two weeks between our response and your response.

Have you looked at K 1.6 Techical Requirements ?

Looks like you have a few problems:

(1) You can't produce your K 1.6 Configuration Report - that's a big problem and that's the one I think that we should be concentrating on first.

(2) The BBcode issues - looks like another case of [Merged topic]The great Mootools/Javascript conflict discussion . In other words, your Joomla site did not meet the technical requirements.

(3) Not being able to change usernames: this depends on whether you've allowed the option in your configuration settings but, because we can't see your configuration settings, we don't know what you've allowed.

Thanks sozzled, I took the long time to come back because I wanted to do check everything that my limited knowledge would allow me to check before coming back so that I wont fill the place with too many questions at the same time. Unfortunately, I couldnt figure anything out.

1) Yes, like you said, the problem of not being able to report config settings is a serious one but I dont know what to do about it.

2) For the BBcode issue, I will be going through that thread you posted carefully so that I can maybe find a solution.

3)For the username change, I allowed it in administration and its not a question of whether the option is enabled but the issue is that when they click profiles - Edit, instead of opening the Edit page, the site goes back to the home page.. Once again, the issue started after the upgrade.Maybe the links are mixed up or something am not sure but people could click through profiles - Edit - USERNAME before the upgrade. Thankz
