Hi Kunena Team,

I was using version 1.5 until today and was really happy cause it's the best forum component for Joomla! and today I made an upgrade to 1.6 (just with a backup on my local pc) and I thought: "WTF???:woohoo: :cheer: :) :( "
The order of nearly everything is much better than before. But when stepping through the config screen I got more and more angry. There is no posibility to set if the I want to have an external helpsite or not. I even can not turn if off completely. Then the thing with the userdata at top. I want to turn it off completely too but I want to disable in config and not to delete anything in the templatefiles.
And the biggest bug seems to be that even if I have configurated the integration of CB the Kunena profile gets loaded by clicking on the "Profil" link.
Also a big bug seems to be that Kunena wants another itemid then Joomla is giving it.

Well I know why I usally didn't use beta versions but this stable release is in my eyes not more than a RC. Actually I would have participated the beta but I was stuck with school so I had no time.

It would be nice if anyone could help me with that cause I like Kunena and want to use it as good as possible but at the moment this is impossible for me.

(Sry for any things belonging to english grammar or spelling. I'm no native speaker but I'm trying my best)

Config report:
Warning: Spoiler!

You can't find those settings because they are not there. You can change or disble the tabs on top in the kunena menuitem. Go to: docs.kunena.com/index.php/Customised_menus for more information on that.

You can change the link behind the profile tab to let it point to CB and not to the kunena profile.

Hi,

What you are referring to are all new or changed features in Kunena 1.6

The biggest difference is that the navigation on top of Kunena 1.6 is no longer a propriatary fixed structure, that requires tons of config settings, but a real Joomla Menu.

Check your menu manager and look for the Kunena Menu. In there you find all the links of the forum. If you want to hide any of them - like the help pages - simply unpublish them. If you want to add a link to a URL, simply add one.

The menu entry for the profile has a special override in the menu parameter that allows you to define whether it should follow overall integration or not. That way, you can show the original Kunena profile page to moderators or admins, with an extra menu entry that is otherwise not seen by regular users.

I suggest you also check out the wiki and check the pages about Kunena 1.6 and especially the new menu system.

All the issues you are listing, are simply changes in Kunena 1.6 that give you more control and flexibility on how to set this up.

Kunena 1.6.0 is stable, but we also realize that it is a .0 version and it has some minor bugs - most of them already fixed in the upcoming 1.6.1 service release.

Hope this helps!

stable refers to the bugs, not the features you are referring to. It seems you have not educated yourself on how to do things with the new kunena 1.6 and simply have come to the conclusion that it is 'broken'. I suggest you do your homework first :)

still wish that i can write my forum signature through a jomsocial plugin and do it from my jomsocial profile :(

I really should have done my homework. :)

Thanks for this fast and precise anwers.
The new features are amazing if you are into it.

Everything works fine now and I am happy again.

Just one little thing and a question. First the little thing. The translations have to be updated.
The infomessages are still the old ones from 1.5 and are in some cases they dont fit anymore.
And now the question. In the config reports the disabled Mootools upgrade is marked red so it seems to be bad but I dont know why its just there since some Joomla! version and never needed it. Does Kunena do?

Greets and thanks

Hi,

You are welcome.

Yes some of the translations require updates. We are actively waiting for our translators to do that for Kunena 1.6.1

Yes Kunena 1.6 requires mootools 1.2 to be fully functional. As such the MTUpgrade plugin of Joomla 1.5.19+ should be enabled. We also try to aut enable it for just the Kunena pages, but if mootools 1.1 is already loaded when Kunena 1.6 gets to it, it cannot be reloaded with the new 1.2 version. It is best to have MTUpgrade enabled for Kunena 1.6

Please check with your template provider if your Joomla site template supports mt 1.2

Hope this helps!
