I just upgrade to version 1.7 but the error continues

It looks that you have Apache and PHP logs in separate place. Can you also check PHP error log?

Apache log tells me that something goes wrong in that page and that you have 2 missing files:
public_html/404.shtml
public_html/500.shtml

Those files are used to show error messages in your site and they can be set for each site separately. It looks like your server has been configured to use above files but you have deleted them.

Anyway, fixing this doesn't fix the issue with Kunena. You still need to find PHP error log. You can do that by going to Joomla administration and going to Help > System Info > PHP Information. In there search for error_log variable. It points you to the right file.

Just a note: Kunena latest is still at 1.6.4.

After several days of tests and trials, I have no more the 500 error.
I can post articles and edit all items without any problem.
this was by restoring the database on a newly installed copy of kunena.
Anyway the articles of a particular user (admin) are not displayed , but all he creates new articles can be viewed without any problem.
But when I edit articles I can see the contents without a problem! :huh: :huh: (those created by the admin)
there any way to recover these messages?

Are you using discuss plugin to display Joomla articles inside Kunena? And those topics are empty? Or are there no topics at all?

BBCode image tag doesn't work well with relative urls. If you have urls pointing to the same site, you need to provide full path: /dir1/dir2/image.png
