Dear Friends,

I have searched all the forum to find out a solution for my issue but failed. There are some similar problems reported but not useful for me.

I have just upgraded Joomla from 1.5.22 to 1.5.23 and Kunena 1.6.x to 1.7

As indicated on the subject, registered users can not post a new topic and can not reply to any topic.
"New topic" and "reply" buttons are visible, but when clicked it just refreshes the url.

But, as administrator, I can post a new topic and reply to topics. All the categories are "public", only registered users allowed to post.

I am posting this for anyone that comes along looking for a solution to try.

I had the EXACT same problem. Registered users only got a screen refresh when trying to create a new topic or reply. Back end access level users had no problems.

I had to go under the security tab of the Kenena configuration and change "CAPTCHA Challenge for Users" from the default 5 to 0. Once I did that everyone is posting fine since it is a new forums and all users are under 5.

I am not using the built in CAPTCHA so had turned it off for guests but my template was hiding the fact that the built in CAPTCHA was trying to work when new users posted and therefore failing because I did not enter any private and public keys. I do not see a way to turn it off for Users other than set the post count to 0 and there is nothing stated in the comments for that setting to do so. Since that seems to be the only way it should be added to the comments or a setting to turn it off for users just like guests is needed.
