Hi all,

I am working on a website where we use this component. I have set up 1 section that contains 3 categories (A, B and C).

I would like to achieve the following:

Category A can be viewed everyone.
Category B and C can only be viewed by registered users.

The problem that I am having is when I am logged in as a registered user I cannot see any of the categories and it displays the message 'You do not have permissions to access this page.’

This problem can be solved if I also give the user ‘Administrator’ access. This fix is however not appropriate as this level of privilege also allows the user to edit the articles throughout the website.

Happy to supply screenshots/specs if it will help and please see my configuration report below.

I hope I've made this clear and many thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,

Hello,

I advise you to upgrade to Joomla! 1.6.6, but you kunena 1.7.0 which leverage Joomla! 1.6 ACL

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Hi xillibit,

Many thanks for your help. I have however tried this and it hasn't worked. I've also tried to control it using access levels and the same problem occurs.

Really keen to get this working. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance and please find my updated configuration report below.

So you have normal registered user in Registered user group? Or have you created a new user group?
In Kunena you have categories which are assigned to Registered (and all its children)?

It sounds to me that your registered users are in some other group than "Registered".
