Joomla: Version 1.7.3
Installed version: Kunena 1.7.2 | 2012-01-31 | 5215 [ Omega ]

I have been using this forum previously on a older joomla but decided to upgrade the joomla along with the Kunena to the above versions.

Everything works fine except the option of letting the visitors post in the forum without creating an account does not work.

Allow Guests to Post/Write is put to YES.

What can this be?

Rgds,
TheMan

P.s. if I upgrade my Joomla to 2.5 along with upgrading the Kunena, will it mess with the urls of the posts already in the system?

G'day, theman, and welcome to Kunena.

We ask, when people use the forum for the first time to look at the FAQs page (see the menu above the forum here) and to read the posting guide which helps you to help us to give you faster answers.

I cannot imagine why upgrading Joomla from an older defective version to a version that's new and less defective will affect URL routing. Such matters, of course, depend entirely on how you've set up Joomla and we not nothing about your Joomla configuration in respect of SEO.

I cannot say how or why this is a problem without more information from you. The posting guide, printed at the top of this page, shows you how to provide us with additional information (see the animated "hand" icon).

Do you need to get access to the administrator panel?

Thank you for that information. There seems to be some other Joomla extension conflicting with Kunena that is stopping people using the New Topic or Reply options. From your configuration report I see that you are trying to use AceSEF and that would be the first thing I would begin to suspect.

I suggest that you try to see if you can post to your forum by disabling and, if necessary, uninstall AceSEF. Unless you really know why you need these third-party SEF products, there is usually no requirement to install them. If the only need you have for a third-party SEF tool is to generate search-engine friendly URLs then you definitely do not need such products (see how to generate SEF URLs without AceSEF by reading the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) guide in the Wiki).

Thank you for your reply!

I installed the site on another server and uninstalled the AceSEF.

No change :(

Any other ideas?

For some reason Kunena redirects to the main page. Can you enable Kunena debug mode and try again if it gives any reason why it's doing that.
