Question 1.7.1 to 1.7.2 Avatar problem

More

I am having problems changing avatars since the upgrade.
I have a test site that is still running 1.7.1 and I can upload and change avatars no problem. My active site has been updated to 1.7.2 and I cannot update the avatar or change it to a different one at all.

Any idea's on what might be different?

It doesn't give any errors when uploading avatar but it never shows up in the directory, the folder permission is set to 755.

Thanks

G'day, badmudder, and welcome to Kunena.

Plese read some important advice I gave earlier today - >>> here <<<

This forum receives many requests for help about avatar "problems" and nearly all of those turn out to involve site configuration issues or simple user problems (like trying to upload a 32Mbyte image as a user avatar, for example). As far as we can tell, none of these problems involves a standard Kunena installation, on a standard, supported Joomla framework running on a "standard" hosted platform. Many problems do, however, exist on the cheap, less-than-$10-per-year hosted sites that some people choose.

Is your test site (where you are not having problems) hosted on the same platform as your production site (where you are having problems)?

So, the short answer to your question is, no - I don't know what might be different in your case because we don't know the information we need to diagnose your case.

So, your test site is hosted differently to your production site, is that correct?

Sorry for the delay, I have been away for a few days.
Yes that is correct, unfortunately they are on different hosts. They used to be on the same one but when the main site went live users including myself were getting 24hr ip bans so I moved the site. This is the absolute only problem I have with the site now and have been impressed with the hosting so far.
