Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Question Insert link error in IE8

When a forum user attempts to add a link using the insert link button in the tool menu, the link always inserts itself at the beginning of the post, rather than where it should. The link code then has to be manually cut and pasted in he right place.

This also happens on the Kunena.org/forums, so it doesn't look like it's something wrong with my setup.

Does anyone know of a workaround, or has this issue been addressed in 1.7.2?

This problem doesn't happen in Safari (on Mac) or Chrome (on PC).

I am running Kunena 1.7 in Joomla 1.5.24 using a slightly modified Euro-blue template.

G'day, Novakandgood, and welcome to Kunena.

I am replying to this topic using IE9 (running in IE8 emulation mode) which is as close as I can be to trying to reproduce the problem that you referred to. Normally, when people post their questions in the Support category, we would expect that they would include their configuration report; however, because you claim that this issue also occurs at www.kunena.org , this gives us the perfect opportunity to try to reproduce the problem.

This site is currently running K 1.7.2.

When I use the Insert Link button (and then "Insert" after I have entered the URL and the text) the link is inserted in the beginning of the message (under IE8). You are correct.

If I use IE9 there seems to be no difference, either. I will report this as a bug in K 1.7 but I doubt it will be be fixed.

I agree that this is inconvenient for users of Internet Explorer.
