Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

This category is only for reporting defects or problems with Kunena 1.6 test versions with Joomla 1.6. This is NOT a support forum - there is no support for test versions. Users should NOT install K 1.6 alpha or beta test versions on websites with live production data.

Question Fresh Install Fails to Display

I installed a new copy of Joomla 1.6, JMS Multisites and Kunena 1.6 afterwards. The forum is enabled/not offline, the Kunena menu has been created and published however nothing related to the forum displays.

I received no errors during the install and tables, etc. seem to have been created appropriately. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks.

I am sorry, I do not understand your question. I do not know anything about JMS Multisites . If you are having a problem with JMS Multisites I suggest that you contact the JMS Multisites team.

"Nothing related to the forum displays" is a little vague. Would you like to help us with a little more information please?

I do not think it is relevant but I actually uninstalled JMS Multi Sites and re-installed Kunena by it self which made no difference. What I meant by "nothing is displayed" is that I can not see the Kunena Menu, or the forum main page. I even installed the Kunena search module and added/enabled it to test. I could not see it either. I made sure that these were all set to Public.

I can however take a basic Joomla module such as banners and publish it to confirm that it displays.

What I meant by helping us "with a little more information, please" was your K 1.6 configuration report so that we could see what are the issues we are dealing with.

By itself, out-of-the-box, Kunena 1.6 installed on a clean site that meets the minimum technical requirements , everything should work. However, because there are literally an infinite number of combinations of web hosting providers, software platforms, Joomla versions, Joomla extensions, etc., sometimes things do not work as expected. We try to do our best to help people but people also have to understand that we're human, too, and we don't have psychic abilities to know exactly what people have done unless they "fill in the gaps" in our knowledge, too, you know. ;)

Are you using 1.6.2 or 1.6.3?

When I installed 1.6.2 on a clean and new J!1.6 I had this same issue. I had to use K 1.6.3 in order to get the Menu created. Does the J! Menu Manager show the Kunena menu? Are you able to run the config report without error?

If you are indeed using K1.6.2, I would suggest getting a hold of 1.6.3, but then, I am finding there are some other issues in it as well.
