Question No Icons

No Icons was created by easylivin
I am new at this and sure this is a stupid mistake but am lost as to how to correct it.

I am developing on localhost and everything is fine EXCEPT - I have no icons, no folder images, no new topic button or expand/collapse icons. The links are all there, just invisible.

I can see in Firebug that Backgroundurl("http://localhost/components/com_kunena/template/default/images/icons/folder_nonew.png") no-repeat scroll left center transparent - "failed to load given URL".

Makes perfect sense since something is missing.......

It SHOULD be:

How do I correct this?

G'day, easylivin, and welcome to Kunena.

Please see the posting guidelines printed at the top of this page. It would help to know what environment we are discussing especially because we cannot actually see the problems that you mentioned (see also Support for PC-hosted websites (e.g. WAMP, XAMPP)

The problem may possibly be solved easily by reinstalling Kunena. On the other hand, the problem may also be solved by starting again and rebuilding your test site from scratch. Your problem could be a file permissions problem, or may be a problem with the operating system. Your website may not meet the minimum technical requirements for Kunena. You may have had a problem installing Kunena. I'm sorry but unless we know more about your situation there's not a lot of specific help we can give until we know what's causing the problem.

Check folder/file permissions (see Securing Kunena ). Then I would suggest that you re-install K 1.6.4 (there is no need to uninstall what you have already).

Thanks again sozzled. I will check all. Hope it's not too cold wherever you are in Aus. All my mates from home are complaining about it.

Just for reference, I copied the entire com_kunena folder and all contents into the parent directory of my root (so created a components folder in htdocs and then copied com_kunena into components) and it fixed the problem.

This worked but I'm sure this is not a good workaround. Does anyone know why it would be looking for these files in htdocs and not the dbase name root (htdocs/mydomain)? Can I redirect it somehow?
