K 1.6 is different ... very different. See Kunena 1.6 - a moderator's view for an overview of the differences and read the release notes for more information.

I'm not sure what you mean. Different Joomla? How so?

Your site is using J! 1.6.x and you are using K 1.6.x. Am I right in assuming that you are using J! 1.6.3 and KI 1.6.4?

K 1.6.4 works well with J! 1.5.23 (see K 1.6 Technical Requirements ). You don't need J! 1.6 in order to run K 1.6 ... but ... if you want to use K 1.6 with K 1.6 you need J! 1.6.3 and K 1.6.4.

Is there a better editor? I think the answer is no. There will be differences in in editor features in K 2.0 (not yet available for public distribution at this time).

I hope this answers your questions.

Your editor is "different" because your Joomla website has a problem. Please read msg #1 in If you are having problems with K 1.6, please read this first .

Your question has been asked hundreds of times before. We don't need another topic to answer the same question.

Don't worry. We are asked the same question in dozens of different ways but it's still the same question. The issue is not a Kunena issue; the issue is related to different software that people have installed on their sites. The solution is to look at those things and the tips given in msg #1 of If you are having problems with K 1.6, please read this first will address your problems ... in a general sense. Each person asking this question may have a different specific solution (depending on what other Joomla extensions they may happen to be using) and so the answer really lies in your hands.

We're not saying that you've done anything wrong. We're only trying to provide you with a way to fix your problems. However, to a large extent, most of these issues arise because of the fundamental issue, namely, Which came first? The template or the forum?
