Hello,

Do you have installed Jomsocial correctly ? Check in plugins manager that the zend plugin is enabled

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

On a previous upload of Joomla I installed Jomsocial but this is a new install. Do you think some of original jomsocial is left installed ? I dont think I need Jom social to use Kunena ...do I ?

You don't need Jomsocial to use Kunena.

So, on your clean Joomla! install, what extensions do you have installed ?

I just have JCE, JNews, Akeeba and Kunena installed.
I was setting up the site on 1.5 but decided to try 1.6 but that fell over when I tried to install Jnews, so I deleted mysql and cretaed a new database and loaded 1.5 back on.
I am assuming that perhaps some of the old stuff is left in the directory of the domain.

Thanks for your help.
