CSV or TXT Massimport was created by Rheingauer
Hey All,
I'm relative new to Kunena and I have a question. I would like to import from a txt or csv file topic titles into a category. Not more. The target is to create the only topics the users can use and discuss.
I don't need messages, users, categories or somthing else. Is there a tool for this or where can I find the datebase structure to put the data directly into the database.
Thank you in advance
Frank

I'm not aware of any such tool that can do this. Furthermore, topics in the database need to be assigned to a user, a category, and all kinds of other things. You could try browsing the structure in your database, but the potential to forget something and mess it up is large.

In Kunena 2.0 creating something like this will be pretty easy task by using our new API. In K1.6 you need to insert data into database, which hasn't been documented. I don't recommend you to do that.

Thank you, all
I have done directly in the database. The structure isn't so difficult and the system is still working.
Thanks again

G'day, Frank. I was thinking of replying earlier to this topic; I was tempted by the possibility that I could earn a quick couple of hundred dollars because, although the solution is a little time-consuming, the problem was a reasonably straightforward one to solve. However, there was one part of the problem specification that troubled me: the question, contained in your question, how to ensure that the topics loaded from a .csv or .txt file would remain "the only topics the users can use and discuss".
If you are interested, this question has been discussed (but not satisfactorily resolved) on a number of occasions: see [Merged topic] Only admins to create new threads .
Congratulations on getting a working solution together - even though I missed the opportunity to make a little pocket money! - and I hope that your forum site is a wonderful success.
