The smileys do not tend to work when adjacent to another character:) <<example
yet in it's own space it works :) <<2nd example

Is there any way of changing the code so that it doesn't need the space (yes I know it can then alter smiley text within wording but astute use of the smiley text can prevent most instances.

ThanX Kymmy

Kunena = 1.6.3

I don't think this has ever worked in a previous version of Kunena (in they way that you've described it) but I could be wrong. I am fairly sure that [some/all?] smiley BBcodes require whitespace between them or they're treated as plain text.

Kunena is one of the few where it works like that.. Will have to go for a dive into the code to see what's happening..

TnX anyway :D

Most of the time I press the emote buttons and let Kunena insert them in the "appropriate manner" :pinch: :pinch: :)

Yep but it relies on you manually putting a space in before the emoticon, perhaps then if I can't do anything with the parsing it might be an option to include the space before and not after the emoticon in the coding ;)

No, I just clicked the emoticon buttons and they inserted whitespace between the BBcode. I didn't manually insert anything.
