Anyway to make the description images and text linkable other than the use of bbcode?

Problem is the bbcode opens new window/tab, which is fine for links in post, but we would rather have the target be "same" when clicking from the index view.

We'd like the links in the description to be like the ones for the forum icon or title.

Short answer: No.

You could go out on a limb and modify the file ../components/com_kunena/lib/kunena.link.class.php and, when you make any changes to this file, you won't get any help if things go wrong.

Good idea. Would you like to suggest that as a feature request? :)

EDIT: A further idea, that might work: see BBcode, a way to disable automatic image link? I don't know; I haven't tried this myself.

but that opens another can of worms. Our forum depends on images, scaling them down to view well in the forum but clickable to see full size.

I'll accept the short answer and yes, would love a feature request. Do I do that or will you just move this there?

Yes, you can create a new topic in the Feature Requests category. We will leave this topic [archived] in the Common Questions category for others who are similarly interested in knowing what options are available to them.
