Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Topics that are moved into this category are generally considered to be closed. Users may want to add additional information but these topics should not be resurrected in order to discuss new problems or unrelated matters.

Hi.

Is there any option in the settings of Kunena Forum to change a view of comments? Let's say to make it as a tree with all comments in compact view? To show only first couple of words.
Something like in blogs:
Original post,
then reply in compact view and moved a little to the right
then next comment - more to the right and so on...
It is very readable commenting pictures

Would be just nice to have this feature.

I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about. "Comments"? Are we talking about the Kunena Discuss plugin?

No, I'm talking about regular replies.
For example I added a picture in a topic and posted.
It would be nice that all replies to this particular topic stay together, under the picture and would not be broken by other topics. i.e. every new reply under a previous one, but moved to the right just a little, to separate replies visually, like a tree Hierarchy

I have Kunena discuss plug-in. Maybe I'm usng it incorrectly?

I understand now. This method of displaying topics is sometimes referred to as a "threaded view".

This won't be happening in K 1.6. There are plans to re-establish threaded view in K 1.7, if possible.

Using "threaded" view adds additional processing overheads on your server. In the current - also known as "flat" - view, Kunena only displays 10 messages per page. Using a "threaded" view, you have to load all of the messages posted into a topic. Using the flat view, it doesn't matter if you have 10 or 10,000 replies: you only display a small number of them on each page. Using the threaded view you have to show all 10,000 replies on the page.

There's the problem and that's one of the issues that needs to be overcome in order to make feasible a "threaded view" option for Kunena.

Sozzled,

I absolutely agree with you - there will be lots of overhead!
The view we have now - does not bother me at all. People could use "quote" option - it shows an original message/post. So, that is OK. I just was wondering.
