If I upgrade to K 1.6, will my K 1.5 URLs be exactly the same or will K 1.6 modify them?

I have some URLs that have been indexed by search engines and would hate to lose my pagerank.

Thank You!

P.S. Please note that I am using the native SEF (Joomla's built in SEF URLs) and mod rewrite.

Example K 1.5 URLs:

This URL is from a forum category:
../ayuda-consejos/2-relaciones-de-pareja.html

This URL is from an actual post:
../ayuda-consejos/2-relaciones-de-pareja/10212-mi-marido-nomas-no-me-llena.html

The best way to answer this question is for you to test the upgrade for yourself (on a test site, obviously). I don't think that you'll find too many differences. To be honest with you, I am aware that there were massive changes made within the K 1.6 router programs but I'm not sure how that work translated into the end result you see with SEF URLs ... probably no differences at all.

I would love to be able to give you a definitive answer to your question but you will probably discover the answer quicker for yourself than I will if you do as I suggested: try it out for yourself.

One other suggestion I would definitely make: please look at Avoiding upgrade nightmares

Cheers :)

Sozzled, I took your advice and applied the K1.6 upgrade to a copy of my website.

After the installation, I noticed that part of the paths did change.

After some adjustment to the 'Kunena Menu' alias, I was able to restore the exact URLs that I had to my Kunena Forum and to my individual articles.

Excellent job with K1.6!
