Bug A question about redirects and how to tell if someone is in the forum in general

Hello,

I am very new to both Joomla and Kunena and have some questions that may be very basic, and I apologize in advance if they are, but I have spent time searching and can't find the answers that I am searching for.

My first question about redirects, my client has asked if it is possible for when a user submits a new topic or deletes a topic that they not get redirected to their "profile" page where they see an overview of the posts they are active in, etc. They would rather on submission of a new topic, have it redirect to view that topic - and for the delete, either view the thread the comment was deleted from or if a topic is removed have it show the category the topic used to be in.

My second question is, I am running a template that shows the page title in a banner image using $doc->getTitle(); The issue with this is that when you are inside the forum it shows titles for the categories/threads you are in. Is there a way to write a check to see if you are viewing the forum and to have it just display "Forum" instead?

Thank you for taking the time to read and help me.

PS, here is the information from my config settings section of Kunena:

G'day, parmstrong and welcome to Kunena.

J 1.6.3 is not supported.

K 1.6.4 is not supported

The Kunena template you are using - Euro-BRed - is not supported.

The problems you are now having are, almost certainly, resolved by using the supported versions of Joomla, Kunena and a Kunena template and not things that were written over one-and-a-half years ago. If your client insists on using out-of-date, unsupported products then I wish you all the best of success but, I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do to help you.

Morning Sozzle,

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately I didn't actually develop the site, I inherited it in it's current state. I guess it's time to go back to the client and see what they want to do!

Thanks again
