We are using Kunena 1.7 on J!1.7.3 with JomSocial 2.2.4 and after installing Kunena I wanted to go through and delete the default Welcome to Kunena thread but it seems the delete option is not appearing in the default template that came with the installation despite being logged in as Admin. Please advise!

Hmmm ... I am not familiar with J! 1.7.3 (there is no such version available to the public), but it's easy enough to delete the "Welcome to Kunena" topic that's installed, by default, when you installed Kunena.

When you login to your website, you should see a "Delete topic" option when you view the "Welcome to Kunena" topic. If you don't see that, with the standard template that comes with Kunena, then there's something else going on. It might be useful if you would post your configuration report (which will also show us what version of Joomla you are using and some details of other Joomla extensions that may be interfering). Please read the FAQs to show you how to produce your configuration report. Thanks.

Finger slipped, I meant 1.7.2 and I found that the Joomla login has no effect on the forum unless you login to the forum separately. Once I did that I found the delete button thanks.

Your claim is interesting as Kunena just forwards user to Joomla login with user/password information filled in.

So by using Kunena login you're actually using Joomla login.

I was already logged into Joomla as admin when I could not find the delete button as my avatar and name Admin was being displayed and it did not appear until I logged into the forum.

This whole questions centres around what you see as a difference between logging into your wbesite and logging into your forum which, I believe, is the point that Matias was trying to make. I prefer to use the term "logging into the site" whereas you (and others) might use the term "logging into Joomla"; I hope we agree that we're talking about the same thing. Are we?

The point that we're making is covered by the topic How do I register new users to my website and where should they login to use my website? If you're logged into your website then you should be logged into Kunena. That's why I was fascinated by your last reply which I reproduce below (with my emphasis added):

If you were already logged in, why did you find it necessary to have to login again? That's the part of the issue that Matias and I would like to properly understand. What, exactly, do you mean by "I was already logged into Joomla"?
