Hi Kunena community,

I experience a problem with kunena and enabling the core sef url in joomla. I read a lot of threads and posts in various forums however I didn't find any solution to my problem.

The url of my test website is the following: www.adverteos.com
Currently I set all 3 Sef core button on joomla to on. So you can see the error 404 at this url: http://www.adverteos.com/forum.html

I tried to enable/disable sef button on the kunena config with no success.
Thank you in advance for assisting me to fix this.

Here is my Kunena configuration settings:

I set up another menu redirecting to the forum index and the sef url works.
www.adverteos.com/forum/index.html

However while i try to click on any post or want to acces a category i get an error 404.
Example: www.adverteos.com/forum/Suggestion-Box.html
www.adverteos.com/forum/Marketing/5-anot...post-here-too.html#5

Besides my main menu also redirecting to the kunena forum index still display an error 404...
EDIT: I fix this by changing the alias in my joomla main menu.

I have to admit that i am confused... still

Kunena doesn't have this kind of URLs so you must be using a SEF component in your site that controls the SEF. Issue is in there -- meybe you're using old version or the Kunena SEF plugin they provide is broken?

Contact SEF component author and give this link to them:
docs.kunena.org/index.php/Developing_Kunena_Router

Hi Matias,

Thank you for your help. I do not use a third party SEF component such as Jomsef but the core SEF settings in joomla.

I use art of users component to create groups maybe that would create my issues. Anyway, i will delete all categories and recreate my forum structure and if it does not work i would uninstall and reinstall Kunena.

I installed my website using Akeeba backup and maybe during the reinstallation something went wrong...

any ideas?

Yes. Your Kunena menu structure is not what I would call "standard". Read Kunena menu issues on our FAQs page and simplify your menu structure.

Read Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) carefully and thoroughly. Most people don't read this thoroughly; if you want the "short" version, read >>> this <<<.

To conclude:

(1) Simplify your menu
(2) Make sure you are using standard Joomla SEO properly
