Hello all,

we have been searching for days now an were not able to find a solution.
Now you are our last hope :)

We would like to change the look of the url / link generated by Kunena.

This is how it looks like now:
.../forum/Wer-kennt-was-meint-Ihr-dazu/942850353-NSL-Consolidated-Limited

and we want to have it like this:
.../forum/Wer-kennt-was-meint-Ihr-dazu/NSL-Consolidated-Limited-942850353

We cant find where Kunena build this path and how to change it.
We hope you can help!
Any ideas or suggestions?

I don't think you'll find an easy way to do this without using one of these:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/sef

The issue with turning topic id into postfix is that we use parameters which can look just like topics:

.../forum/Wer-kennt-was-meint-Ihr-dazu/sel-10

EDIT: We could use /forum/My-category/My-topic--10 or something else unique...

First off all we would like to thank you for your replies.

@Mstephan: I will take a look at it today.

@Matias:

The problem we are facing is, that we have a customer with an old forum (wbb3).
We managed to import all data, users and all 250.000 posts!!
But all links, generated by wbb3, look like this: Forum/Category/thread-130224.html

1. We want to grant that all links will still work when they follow a link from Google.
2. Internal links to jump from Topic to Topic must work
3. We want to avoid double posts in google. (Same topic but different link)
4. Some links are hardcoded in articles/content

This is why we have to find a solution. Best would be if we could find out how and where Kunena builds that links/url so we can change it. We just want that number at the end.

components/com_kunena/router.php

line 208-218 builds topic part of the URL
line 296-297 parses topic part of the URL

Build part is easy to change, parse needs some extra logic ($var-$value).
Also topic ids may change during the conversion as Kunena uses first post id as topic id (might change in 2.0).
