Question Threads NEW post green link

I am curious how this little green link is supposed to work. I assumed that if you had something like "thread name" (new 5), it meant there are 5 new posts in that thread since you were last online and/or last visited that thread. By clicking on the link, it would take you to the first of the 5 posts. Mine does not seem to work that way. In fact, I have yet to figure out exactly what it is doing. Can someone explain this in detail and how it is SUPPOSE to work?

The ^NEW indicator is a clickable link in the Recent Topics view. It is not a clickable link in the Index view.

There is an issue with J! 1.5.23 in that, if you view a topic (that shows there are new posts) the indicator is not reset when you go back to the earlier page view. This is fixed by Problem with Recent Topics Tab; not refreshing .

I notice that you have not done anything about our advice regarding "legacy mode" . If you need to use legacy mode it is because you are using some software designed for J! 1.0. J! 1.0 software is old, outdated and, in all probability, riddled with errors that will (at some point) manifest themselves in J! 1.5 and your ability to run your site properly. Do nothing, as you want, but that's your choice and you have to accept that there will be consequences of that choice.
