Uninstall the template and use rhuk_milkyway and then tell us if this fixes your problem?

You have 12 Javascript libraries loaded on your site; Kunena uses 3. What do the others do? Eliminate whatever is loading those other Javascript libraries and you've found what is conflicting with Mootools. All explained in msg #1 of If you are having problems with K 1.6, please read this first .

Thanks,
I am not a programmer so have no idea where to find the other Javascript libraries or what they do. If you could point out the culprits (excluding me), maybe I can get rid of them and get things working! When I read through message #1 my brain starts smoking!
Thanks for your speedy replies

The problem that you're having is caused by something you've installed on your site. The question that you need to ask is which is more important to you: a reliable, working web-based discussion forum or the other things (and how they look) on your site. You may find this topic useful background reading on that subject: Which came first? The template or the forum?

Resolving Javascript library conflicts is sometimes not easy. The best way to work through these issues is to create a test site (with Joomla 1.5.23 and Kunena and nothing else) and make sure that Kunena works in that environment. Then, one-by-one, add the other Joomla extensions: a different site template, the other modules, components and plugins that you've installed on your live site, testing each Kunena after you've added each one. You will eventually identify which of these other extensions is the one causing the problem.

Many people - dozens of people - have been in the same situation as you now find yourself in. Most people resolve their problems through patience and perseverance. For those who do not have the time, patience or perseverance, there is always the option to employ someone else to fix these things for you.
