The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.2.6 [K 6.2.6] which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.1 / K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.2
I'm trying to figure out if/where Kunena allows you to configure a screen name. I see where you can set it up to display either username or email but not screen name. The general problem with username, especially if you're intergrating Kunena with other components like Jomsocial is that lots of community members will register with their email address which we certainly don't want to display.
Kunena doesn't store specific "screen names" for individual users. It's a Joomla component, and therefore uses Joomla facilities for these kinds of basic functions. However Kunena does allow users to change their username. The option is found on the Security tab of the backend and is alled "Allow username changes".
