Hello

I am not new to websites, but reasonably new to Joomla and forums and am setting up a site for a client that wants to use a forum but due to the nature of their business want people to be able to post anonymously to the forum.

I have found most of the settings in the panel allowing users to change names etc. but the forum still shows at the top who is browsing and also the profile button still appears under the user name so if this is clicked on you can see who they are.

Is it possible to disable these features?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Ralph

We have the feature:

Go to category manager and edit category.

In Settings tab set Allow anonymous messages: Yes
Also check the next option..

Anonymous posting removes ALL user related information from the post, including userid, name, IP address... Subject and content isn't touched, though..

If users are allowed to edit their messages, they can change existing message to anonymous posting by checking one box. Also moderators can do the same. Anonymous posting also detects all attempts of using real user names and will change name to "Anonymous" if someone tries to use another users name.
