Question Remove expiration of New Post Indicator

Hello,

I read a lot of messages on this forum, and currently my understanding is that there is no way to keep the information on unread message after session lifetime.

I don't understand this behaviour ? Is this a limitation of the design of kunena ?

My "basic" use case is just :
- An user log in the forum
- He can see 10 new messages
- He starts reading 4 messages
- Then a friend call him to go to a bar to drink a bear
- When I come back to home, he is too tired to read the other unread messages
- The day after, after wakeup, he log in again.
- The unread messages indicator has left :-(

In order words ,
- is there a hidden option somewhere -
- is there a way to keep this information like on other forum (SMF,PHPBB or mailbox (gmail,etc...) and keep the NEW indicator until you read the message or mark all as read ?

Do you plan to implement this option in the next version ? or this option will never exist ?

I will check the code tomorrow to see how hard it's difficult to keep this. But I am sure someone already try to do that ?

That would be nice if it can be implemented. It's the "Show unread" function like on other scripts.

Hello,

If i'am remember right Kunena 2.0 will be able to manage that, but for previous you this can't be handled.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Thanks for update. Can;t wait for 2.0 then :).

BTW, is there any type of ETA for that? Maybe I'm blind but I can't find anything.
