Question Menu Items & Categories

OK, I must be missing something and have searched the forums. I did a fresh install of 1.6.2. It creates a menu item and a module (in a position I dont have) I create a menu item in one of my already created menus. Select "Entry Page, Index or Category" as the item type. The main forum index comes up as expected, but when I click on any of the sub-categories, nothing ever gets displayed. I currently have AceSEF installed, but it is currently disabled.

OK, I figured it out, sort of.... The menu item that gets created apparently, is required. Otherwise I can not get it to work.

Common question (and common complaint). The Kunena menu that is automatically generated when you install K 1.6 doesn't suit everyone. For the few cases where this isn't appropriate people should refer to the guide Customised Menu in the Wiki.

The part of your question that deals with clicking a category and going "nowhere" is probably because you have two Joomla menu items pointing to an alias called "forum" but this usually gives a "page redirection" error. Is that what you're experiencing?
